    The system concept combines a powerful 15 kW saw unit with automatically adjustable NC clamping blocks, covering a broad product and length range.

    The system has two machining areas for shuttle operation; for overlength parts, both areas can be combined into one large work envelope. A digital twin enables offline programming and simulation of new sawing programs before production starts. Process data such as torque, feed speed and rotational speed are continuously recorded and stored.

FSW System for Tanks and Tank Bottoms

  • Einleitungstext: For applications in the commercial vehicle industry, HAGE realized an FSW system for producing high-quality aluminium containers, shell courses and tank bottoms.

    Rolled and semi-round sheets are joined using friction stir welding, resulting in smooth seams that require virtually no rework. Compared with conventional fusion welding processes, the method reduces grinding effort, welding fumes and physically demanding post-processing.

    The system is designed for blanks with weld seam lengths of up to 4 m and cylindrical workpieces up to 3.8 m in diameter. With RPT technology, the pin length is automatically adjusted to the respective material thickness before each welding operation. Weld gap control and process parameter recording ensure transparency and quality in industrial series production.

FSW Production Line for Truck Floor Panels for Refrigerated Trailers

  • Einleitungstext: For the production of large-format truck floor panels for refrigerated trailers, HAGE realized an FSW production line with five simultaneously operating FSW units.
  • Inhalt/Text:

    The calibrated floor sections are welded together piece by piece until a complete floor structure is created. Finally, the component is trimmed to a standard size of up to 13.5 x 2.5 m.

    In addition to system development and design, the project also included complete FSW technology development. This included the welding procedure specification according to EN ISO 25239, process development with regard to seam quality and a multi-part FSW RPT tool concept for the specific application.
