Friction Stir Welding (FSW) joins workpieces using a rotating special tool without the need for filler materials. The resulting frictional heat makes the material malleable without melting it, creating a homogeneous, high-strength joint as it cools. The process is particularly suitable for lightweight construction and is used in industries such as rail, aerospace, automotive, shipbuilding, and plant engineering.

During virtual commissioning, a digital twin of the system is created already in the development phase, realistically simulating the behavior of the real system. This allows the interaction of mechanics, electronics, control systems, and software to be tested at an early stage, helping to avoid planning errors and significantly reduce costs and commissioning times — especially for complex systems as well as extensions and retrofit projects.

Thanks to many years of developing and building cross-technology special-purpose solutions, HAGE can draw on extensive in-house experience and expertise. In particular, substantial know-how has been built up over the years in toolmaking and the manufacturing of clamping fixtures. Both tools and clamping fixtures are essential elements of a complete and well-designed system concept.
